Great Patrick Street Student Accommodation

The new student accommodation block at Great Patrick Street in Belfast is currently home to hundreds of students in the city.

GBS Roofing was appointed to deliver key elements of the build, including specialist flat roofing, high-tech cladding and soffits/guttering as well as full waterproofing of the building’s stunning centrepiece, an inverted roof which forms a shared outdoor social space located at the heart of the building.

Trimoterm facade panels were installed on one elevation. GBS Roofing also worked closely with Sika on the design and technical requirements of the Sika-Trocal ‘S’ mechanically fastened system used on the roof. Alumasc Hydrotech hot melt system was used to provide a waterproofed base to the courtyard to allow the area to be landscaped.

Scout Centre, Crawfordsburn

GBS were awarded a roofing package for a newly built Scout Hall in Crawfordsburn, Northern Ireland. Roofing works consist of 750m2 PVC Sika Trocal fully bonded slate grey complete with insulation to pitched roofs. Works also include Trocal metal profile.

Benone Activity Centre

GBS were awarded a roofing package at Benone Activity Centre. Roofing works consisted of Sika Trocal PVC Roofing, supply and fit of fall arrest systems, Trocal metal capping detail and associated PVC weathering to solar panel post.

NI Adult Hospice, Somerton Road, Belfast

GBS was awarded a roofing package for a new build Adult Hospice at Somerton Road, Belfast. The roofing package consisted of 1500m2 of various Bauder Roofing Systems including Bauder Hot melt, Bauder Total Roofing Built Up Felt, Bauder warm roof systems, Bauder Total Roofing Green Roof system. Work also included metal decking.

Ballymoney Footbridge

GBS carried out works Stirling Lloyd Structural waterproofing to the new footbridge at Ballymoney Train Station. This project was completed in September 2013.

JTI/Gallahers Ballymena: South Factory, R&D and Plantrooms

GBS carried out works to the newly refurbished South Factory at JTI Ballymena. The roofing package was for 1,300m2 Hydrotec Hot melt roofing system, complete with insulation, paving flags and ballast. Works also comprised of 350m2 of Kemperol 2K/PUR liquid waterproofing system. This project was completed in June 2014.

Ulster University, Belfast Campus Block BB

GBS was awarded a roofing packing for phase 1 of Ulster University's new Belfast Campus, Block BB in Belfast City Centre.

Roofing works consisted of 1,000m2 of Bauder Bakor Hot melt roofing system, complete with insulation, paving and ballast. Works also included 130m2 of Bauder Bakor Bio Diverse Sedum green roofing system.

Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex

GBS Roofing was awarded a roofing package as part of the construction of the new Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex.

Works consisted of Bauder built up felt roofing system, hot-melt systems to over 4000m2, complete with insulation and associated roofing outlets.

Millington Primary School

GBS Roofing secured a contract for Millington Primary School. Work consists of flat roofing to proposed extension including the ground floor canopy approximately 900m². An insulated Trocal roofing system was installed. Due to be completed July 2016.

Odyssey £1M Contract

GBS Roofing secured a contract for excess of £1millon to renew large roof areas of the Odyssey pavillion, SSE Arena and W5 interactive discovery centre as well as extensive associated repair works. In this contract GBS will be using products supplied by Sika Ireland throughout. Due to be completed by December 2016.
